Surprised I've not heard about this either, not something I'd be interested in, but interesting to know that it was offered.

We've had this dabate before. My understanding is that the speed limiter only operates on 6th gear, though I've never read anything official saying this. The MR does not hit the, rev limiter, in 5th until 170+ mph. I can confirm a gps 167mph in my roadster, in 5th, with the roof down, before I bottled it, as the front end was getting a little light.
 
I've heard that too. I'm conscious of my mpg though, so having an unlimited 6th gear would be more environmentally friendly :|

Liking your logic Bing. Possibly 6mpg as aposed to 5.

Not sure the Roady would ever get there in 6th though, not as slipery as the Coupe. :thumbsup:
 
That extra mile could get me to a petrol station and save a turtle from dying - both incredibly worthy reasons.

True about coupes. The drivers being lubed up 24/7 probably helps too :D
