The combined weight of the driver plus kart has a massive effect on performance (power to weight ratio), which is amplified with low-powered hire karts. Adult driving gods of average weight can't beat a decent lightweight kid, all else being equal. As for driving in tight overalls just 5 days after a vasectomy: that took some balls - at least what you'd got left!mad4slalom said:second one came 8th out of 24 but couldnt get my head round how a friends 16 yo daughter was 6th , wondered if she knew about racing lines, apexes and trail braking which i am sure she didnt, or if she was just lighter or in a better kart or was she just a natural driving god![]()

Cue lots of threads entitled "Help, I broken my ///M" and "Who has a spare rear wishbone for an ///M?"buzyg said:It's one thing to unstick the rear end in first gear. Simply plant your right foot and around you go. It requires a lot more commitment to do it in second gear. Pick a corner you know really well that has a safe run off and that you normally take at around 40 to 45 mph.in third. Drop it into second and come in a little bit slower than Max attack. Then just before the apex smoothly give it the beans and be ready to catch it in both directions. The diff is good but it perfectly possible to over compensate the first few times you try it and end up fishtailing or worse. Take care and have fun![]()
