Hello - if anyone is willing to help me fit this for some beer tokens or a reasonable fee please let me know Herts area but happy to travel reasonable distance. would try myself but I don't know these cars myself and I only had the Z4M for one month

Phil at CPC Performance Engineering in Amersham fitted mine: https://www.cpcpe.com/

CPC shouldn’t be far from you in Hertfordshire and I would recommend them for all you Zed needs.

How much did they charge if you don't mind me asking at CPC ?
I can’t remember (it was a decade ago). He sourced all the parts new from BMW, including the steering column cowl, so that would have added to the cost. Using a second hand control stalk and modifying your existing cowl would reduce costs.

Don't suppose you are still making looms for fitting cruise to Z4Ms are you? I'd be really grateful for one if you are

I am still looking for a stalk (will probably cave next week and spend £200 for one at Sytners), but starting to look into the rest of the job. Unfortunately the pictures on the first post are no longer working, which makes the instructions hard to follow. Can they be restored, or is there a PDF or something floating about with instructions?

Cheers!

Fitting is the same as all other models, except the blue wire to the ecu. It’s probably the easiest version to install though.

@srhutch I think Stuart may have passed my contact re a loom. I’m ok with cars and spanner’s but have never done any electrical 😁👍

Sorry, for not getting back, had a few family issues to deal with. I need to check I have enough bits to make one up, but I can def sort one out for you.

I am almost done with fitting. I have the LCM end of the wiring done, and have fished a bit of 3d print filament from under the glove box to the ECU box. The only thing left to do is route the blue wire from the steering column to the passenger footwell, and this is where I am stumped.

Have tried a number of different routes, but cannot find a way to get from one side to the other. Any tips or tricks for achieving this? I have not been able to remove the glovebox due to a stripped screw (previous owner :headbang:), so I don't have great access on the passenger side.

Have you got the radio out?
You may be able to get your fingers in there to pass the wire from one side to the other.

Just take out the footwell trim. I can't remember if I had the glovebox out or not, maybe to make access easier, but I don't think it's required. There is a big wiring loom going across the car from left to right, you can secure it to that.
