Interesting advert on PH at the moment. It seems sensibly priced, if you could get the price down to about the £13k mark I think you'll have a good deal.

That said, he is using photos from dealer adverts: "Norwich Sports and Classic" . Anybody who is a regular PH classified searcher will know that NS&C always use the same style of photo, i.e. the one infront of the house on the gravel drive.

Would be interesting to see how long he has owned the car, might give some insight as to why he is selling so soon. I know he mentions children, but I always go by the mantra of "trust, but verify".

Also, the ad states that the Z4M is the same as the CSL spec.

Is this true are the components on the Z4M the same as the E46 M3 CSL?

I'm clueless in this regard so would appreciate any input.

Brakes and suspension I think are the same as the CSL on the M.
I've actually been to see a car (Z4Csi) that this guy was selling a few years ago. My experience was that he was pretty good and operates from his house in Norwich. Although I didn't do a deal with him (wasn't offering enough px on my roadster at the time) I did have confidence. Seems to deal in Zeds and Porkers.
 
About the only parts that are from the CSL are the brakes.

Suspension has similar spring rates, but it's not the same components as the CSL or the standard M3 - otherwise all the aftermarket suspension kits for the M3/CSL would fit the Z4M, which they don't.

This guy is in Chesire, as far as I can tell he is just using the photos from the Norwich guy's previous advert.
 
Not sure I would get that one StevenH72 its a bit proverty Spec not even heated seats , 60k miles I would wait for another tbh,

Cheers Paza, it's not one I'd be looking at (I'm going to be looking to spend ~£17k), just thought it was an opportunity for somebody to own an ///MC for £13k.

I was intrigued by the CSL claim, and love learning about these cars before I take the plunge :driving:
 
:x The whole advert seems odd, with the strange price and the copied photo's. Either the guy purchased the car from the dealer in Norwich, [in which case he is, I suppose, (with permission) entitled to use the photos from when he purchased the car] Or, the advert is some kind of scam. :x

Steering might have the same ratio, but it's not the same part number. Same goes for most other parts in the steering (shafts, pipes, pump, etc.). The only identical part numbers are some bolts/washers/etc.

I would possibly be interested in this, I have zero interest in satnav. Also i would just be using it as a weekend car so could possibly run with a slightly higher milag
As long as it was mechanically sound and the price was right I'd consider it.

Anyone care to tell me this car is a bad idea??

If the mechanicals/ history checks out I think this would be a decent buy.

Not often you see an ///MC for <£14k with <60k mileage.

If you could get the car for £13.5k you've got a fair price imo.
 
There is such a wide variation in price its hard too get a feel for a fair value!
Clearly depends on year milage and spec, but it can be hard to rationalise!

I'd agree with that, typically prices range from the £14k - £18k mark.

Prices higher than £18k are very very optimistic, I don't think any ///M is worth more than £18k.

Generally you don't see much cheaper than £14k. I know Woody's is £13.5k, but it has ~75k mileage, I don't think many ///MC's have been used as daily drivers so wouldn't have accrued the >10k per year mileage figure.

This car is relatively low on the extra front, but only has a slightly higher than average (I think average mileage is 40-50) mileage. Being priced less than £14k is fair imo. Provided there are no mechanical issues I think you'll get a good buy!
 
Servicing is the next question I suppose, would need to clarify if it has had the inspection 2 service and if the brakes have been done.

If they haven't been done could need to shell out an extra 800 quid in a short space of time making it a less of a deal...
 
I'd imagine Inspection 2 would definitely have been carried out by this stage, but yeh these questions will need to be asked.
