///M costs for Insp 1 & 2? (August 2013)

IIRC, when I asked my indy just before I bought the ///M, he quoted me 540 for an ins 2. Good luck getting a main dealer to match that!

Bump for recommendations in the South East/London.

I am trying coopers in Chelmsford tomorrow for something so will let you know if that's of interest. As I posted above Power Developments in Basildon/Laindon are excellent and exBMW main dealer.

Hi Simon. How did you get on at Coopers in Chelmsford?

Hi Simon. How did you get on at Coopers in Chelmsford?

Hi, OK so far they washed my car after I asked them not - no big deal really just undid all my hard work. Left dirty marks on the Champers (darling) leather and the new nav unit has melted so it’s got to go back to be investigated. I have spoken to the service manager direct and he sorted me out a loan car for the next day. So currently I am 50/50. Their service re booking the car in and being kept up to date on what was happening was excellent. Just a small let down on the bits above. The car is going back in so once it’s all sorted I will update you.

 Maybe it's just one of those weeks for them. Hope it turns out more 75/25 at least.

Right. I've started to email out for quotes on an Inspection 2 + Brake Fluid change with both main dealers and reputable indys. Will update this thread so it's of use to anybody else looking in SE London or Kent areas:

ETA Motorsport: http://www.etamotorsport.co.uk/
- Inspection 2: £650 all in plus the cost of valve shims at £2.09 each.
- Brake Fluid: Price includes brake fluid change.

BMW Stephen James, Blackheath
- Inspection 2: £1247.71 using 4-plus rate (vehicle at least 4 years old)
- Brake Fluid: £115.81

BMW Stephen James, Bromley
- Inspection 2: £1157.71 (includes a 10% discount on the labour)
- Brake Fluid: Price includes brake fluid change.

BMW Coopers, Chelmsford
- Inspection 2: £899

So if they're claiming that already has the 20% discount applied, then their full price is over £1500!!!

I know Williams in Liverpool aren't the cheapest, but even their full price is 'only' about £1200.

I'd encourage anyone who is willing to travel to use MainDealerDiscount. You may even end up using the same garage as you would anyway, but save up to 50% off their list price.

If anyone wants another indy in the south-east/north essex, then I can recommend my specialist Darjac Racing in Halstead (please forgive the 'website').

Inkey - update. Car is back with them and apart from the nav troubles the way they have handled it has been very good so actual customer service has moved up to a 9/10

I enquired about servicing for you and its £169 oil £669 insp1 £899 insp2

Hope that helps.

 It does. Thanks and I'll add it to my findings.

Wow, those dealer prices are nuts man ! I guess ETA is the one to go for, unless you need to be preserving a history & warranty.

The guys I use - H&C Motors in Maidstone - say they can do servicing work in a way that allows any BMW warranty to be maintained. Not sure how they do this, I guess by ensuring OEM parts are always used, but can ETA provide this too ?

Took me 6 years to get to INSP1, so I guess I won't have to worry about that one any time soon ... :D

I'm also getting prices from BMSport in Bexleyheath as I keep hearing great things about them.

Don't they recommend mileage or time which ever comes first, or is that just a when in warranty scam?

Inspections are not timed based, only mileage.

Every other year is oil and brake fluid and repeat until Insp mileage is reached.

* All done using genuine BMW parts

Main Dealer Discount was coming in at around £864 for both if I booked last minute so potentially that could work too.

Still undecided which way to go. Definitely not Stealer at those prices, but BMAutosport or ETA. ETA further away but £100 less. Want to try and book her in today for early next week.
