Ok Ive always loved the Tri color M stitching on the steering wheels of M's

Now Leather Z as we all know offers these custom stitched boots, and I wanted one,

But the hassle (and cost) put me off,

so I learned how to do it myself, Now here is where I need your input,
This one I have done is just a test, So I know its a tatty looking boot (it came off a 02 M5)
But these are the true "badge match" colors for the ///M logo,

Ok so thats my handyword,
BUT

I think the stitching color isn't as striking as it could be, For instance you really can't see the purple,
But It is an exact match to the M colors from the badge,

But take a look at leather Z's colors

you see how they use almost a white and a blue and red,
Where mine is true to the M colors,
Thing is, I kinda like the look of the leatherZ one more, you can see all 3 colors better,

What do you guys think? Carry on with the stock M colors as I have done or use a lighter blue and lighter blue/purple for the zigzag?

You might as well use something that stands out more in my opinion.

To be honest, people probably wouldn't think 'that colours lighter than the standard ///M colour'.

Any way to increase the stitch width to give more travel to the threads? Might make them stand out more. Also, you're stitching dark colors onto a dark leather so going a few shades lighter will make them easier to see.

Not really as I'm just popping the black threads to replace with the colors

I think lighter threads would help, won't be exactly M color matched but it would look better

caddyshk has the LeatherZ M Boot and I've seen it in person. It really looks great. You don't notice the lighter color threads at all. I think it matches the stitching onm the steering wheel perfectly. I came close to buying one last year.

Might not be in the majority here but personally....the leather Z one looks like tacky rubbish to me? Stitching is far too wide, colours are wrong, and it's just ugly. I actually think yours looks much better...though I wouldn't do it at all as I think it looks a bit fussy personally.

Sorry - not being negative here, but think it looks a little gaudy - I think black stitching on the gaiter looks best.

I would prefer the same colour threads as what's on our steering wheel. From the pics, I think the LeatherZ ones are too light.

Overall, I think the M stitching works well on the steering wheel, but cheapens the look on the shift boot. Too gimmicky IMHO.
