thats the question.should i debadge? i like the look of the car without the m badges on.iv'e seen a few z4mc's on here that have had the m badges taken off,i think the car looks better without them imho :D

YES YES YES. M badges are for 318d and 118d only. They're also cheap and nasty stick on Halfords efforts IMO.

outrun, yours was one of them :D.another question for you,did you put your boot spoiler on yourself??if so have you got any tips on putting it on as it comes with some kind of adhesive :o

Yes and the best tip i can give is don't try it! Take it to a bodyshop. The black heavy duty bonding agent is an absolute nightmare to work with. If i was doing it again, i'd let a professional do it.

the m badges are defo somethink to leave alone!! personally i think the car looks TOO tame as it is!! im always getting people saying to me, nice z4, is it 2.0lr!! it really pisses me ofd badly!! i think the ///m badges are part of the image of the car and i just think it shud be left alone!! personally!!

The first thing I did was to take the rear M badge off the day i picked the car up. I think it looks cleaner from the rear? My opinion only off course?

The best way to do so is to pour boiling water from the kettle over the badge and then leave for a couple of seconds and you can then just pull off. you then only need to put a little bit of polish where the water has been and jobs a good en.

It's each to there own of course. If you do remove them, try dental floss. It's good at more than cleaning plaque from between your teeth!

Took the two side ones off but have left the rear one. It's all personal taste but they do look a bit 'Halfords' to me!

thanks for all your replies and thanks for your tips on getting the badges off if i choose to do that.i find that fishing line takes them off quite well after a good blast with a hair dryer,as for people not knowing what z4 it is because of the badges or lack of them really doesn't bother me,anyway if people are intrested in the car they would know which z4 it was without to much head scratching :D :D

i would have thought its the other way round?if the m badges are on the car you are wanting everyone to know that your driving an m car!!!

Going the extra mile to disbadge the M badges to separate themselves screams more poser to me. It's like those people who drive around in the streets with shiny tow-hooks because they want the whole world to know they're track junkies.

i wouldn't have thought for one moment that the people on here would consider themselfs posers because they've decided to take their m badges off,far from it infact!!bmw debadge some of their cars in the photos they take for their z4 accsessories brochure.its all down to personal choice i guess but i do think poser is the wrong choice of word.

I was going to get mine taken off when I got my detail done, but then work went downhill and I thought it might affect resale value so I didn't. Work has picked up again (slightly) and I'm thinking of doing it again, along with adding lots of storage nets in the cabin & boot.

the good thing about this is that if as you are driving along and somone shouts poser at you the badges can simply be stuck back on :D , only for some spotty faced youth to come along with a screwdriver and take them back off for you :(
