Agree with JE here. Wheels, bumpers etc are for aesthetic purposes. The bodywork "///M" badges don't represent ///M components (wheels, MFSW etc.) but represent what's under the hood and the more performance oriented components (suspension, steering, etc.).
I don't care what people do to their cars. I see no problem with adding all the ///M parts to a non-///M car. But can't understand why people would want to fit bodywork ///M badges.
That said even BMW are doing it now, so who cares.

I've probably changed my opinion on this over the years. In the past it did annoy me a bit but actually, when you think about it, it's just people expressing their admiration of what M cars are about and possibly in some (but not all cases) aspiring to own one in the future.
I think we should live and let live a little more. There are more important things in the world for us to getter annoyed about. Like Audis for example!

This is how I used to feel & I couldn't understand why people did it but nowadays it's so common place & it's their car so they can do what they want with it, having owned two so called proper M cars now & been a little disappointed with them both I can't honestly understand why M cars are so highly rated in the first place to be honest, I think it's purely marketing & people get sucked in to thinking the M cars are the bees knees but in reality they aren't but bmw make tons of money out of it.original guvnor said:I've probably changed my opinion on this over the years. Ford Motor Company has facelifted just about every one of their cars with an Aston Martin nose job already.
Trouble is, according to Consumer Reports, they have also earned 5 of the top 10 least reliable cars along with it.

I dont like it, it makes it really hard to tell what is an ///M and what isn't. Like this one. Who can tell if its an ///M or not? Certainly not me.

I thought we agreed to bring back capital punishment for improper use of the M badge
It totally de-values the brand, and dilutes existing stock. Imagine if someone saw an M badge on a mere "normal" BMW?

I think Ranski's car is one of the nicest on here. All the M bits added but he gets to enjoy an auto box. I don't know or care if he's stuck M badges on it or not.
