///M badge question...

I wouldn't do anything as stupid as sticking an ///M badge on my zed,but I heard of some bloke who had a 3-series 2.0 diesel an stuck an ///M badge on it and he said it doubled the horsepower!

As for the OP...
Dude, can I bring my car down to your RR please??

No need to bring it down - I can imagine what your RR printout would be from here. Exactly how many badges have you fitted to it? Also, to ensure (in)accuracy I need to know - does it have any stripes?

That would seem unlikely based on the scientific evidence that I fabricated. Based on that I have only seen a ~30% increase from 1x ///M badge. Do you have any more details about the material and type of adhesive used? Are you sure he hadn't added dodge-viper-style-stripes as well?

Isn't the only ///M badge that counts the one on the rocker cover? :D

I am not sure sticking one there would have any effect at all as nobody can see it :D

Really enjoyed reading this thread

What about nurburgring sticker, must include pic of track this must add downforce.
(No offence to guys who've actually been)

I have also heard that the ultimate HP increase is to put a set of V10 badges next to the M badges (M side not stripe side...aerodynamics)
I have a mate who did this and it was phenomenal!

Cars with large wheels and an m badge that shouldn't be there.

I put an M/// badge on my 3.0 si.
When I took it to the main dealer for a service there was an extra 300 quid on the invoice that I hadn't been expecting.

When I asked what it was for they said it was to polish the M/-|\ badges.

Apparently they use a wax that was found in the Ark of the Covenant. I'm sure most of you have seen the historically (almost) correct film, Raiders of the Lost Ark. The bit they failed to mention was the Fritz Fiedler who
was head of BMW car design in 1936 was actually there at the time of the opening of the Ark of the Covenant.

Fortunately he was really close to Indiana Jones and heard him say "shut your eyes, don't look at it no matter what happens". So instead of having his eyes and face melt away he was fine. He managed to strike a deal with Indiana that he could have the the wax and a couple of old nails.

This was the very wax that Jesus used when he was an apprentice carpenter for the local furniture company,
JFS. And that, my friends is why M[//\1 cars cost so much to service. The M/*/ badges are polished with wax that was found in the Ark of the Covenant.

BMW said for a further 200 quid they could buff the leather seats up with the Turin shroud. But as the Turin shroud is owned by the Catholic church I know it's a fake and not worth that kind of money! I'll go to an independent who's brought back some paper towels from a recent pilgrimage to Lourdes and get it done for 100 quid!

That must need some serious downforce to keep it on the road.

Unfortunately, my fictional rolling road only goes up to 1000bhp, so when I tried to make up figures for that combination of badges, this happened:

However; using computational fluid dynamics, I have determined that it would give an approximate increase of 1010bhp. If anyone wants copies of the computer models that I used, so that they may verify my work, I am happy to share. All you need is a CFD program that works on Windows 8, and is compatable with my imagination.
