Lumbar support...

Did the Z4MC had the option of lumbar support like all the other M sport seats? And if so, is there a retrofit available for this?

There's no lumbar option in the options list, and AFAIK the ///M Lear seat is unique to the Z4 (possibly used in other marques). The other ///M models in the BMW range have Recaro seats which sometimes have this functionality as an option.

MMM-5 what do most prople change the OEM seats to on the M. I found them not great on long runs (I'm a lanky 194 cm/6ft3). Presumably you could save a fair bit of weight too?

I don't have a problem with them once they're in the right position - but they're still nowhere near as comfortable/supportive/grippy as the alcantara/amaretta ones in the e34 - although I've done Liverpool to the 'Ring and Barcelona before in both and not had a problem, but I'm only 5'10" with built-in padding.

Your options are really only limited by your imagination & budget - and maybe the small space you have to fit them into.

Sixspeed has Recaro Pole Position ABE seats in his, but they're not easily adjustable and whilst supportive/grippy, they're also much firmer.

Your best option is to get to a Recaro seller and try some of their non-race seats - or possibly find some Recaros from an e36 M3 that may also fit.

Thnks M5. I feel they alowed too much movement on the track, but the n I'm not exactly smooth. Would not mind gaining a few cm's to stretch my legs too and saving weight is alwzys good.

well, that's what my SO is now doing too...I was just thinking about sourcing some seats with lumbar support, but this is not possible according to the replies...

OEM Z4 seats with lumbar are not an option, but there will be aftermarket items available.

For example, there's the Recaro Ergomed seat from their orthopaedic range for about £1000.

Alternatively, you can go for something like the Recaro Specialist/Expertseat from their luxury/ergonomic range for about £500+.

Finally you can go the whole hog and fit an adjustable sports seat, like the Recaro Sport Topline, for about £1000.

BTW, the other option might be to investigate whether the e89 Z4 seats will fit, as they have an adjustable lumbar option.

true enought the OEM seats do look good and that discreet M logo is 8) .

Beedud- would you nknow how weight you save getting rid of all these electronic motors. I mean seriously I can't figure out for toffy why BMW insist on those??? Pushing a handle and turning a nob is not exactly hard work! Maybe the weight loss is minimal?
