Luke and his Z - Getting there!

Still got the car!!

Its been a mad few months and have decided not to part from the Z!! It caught me again when i had to drive up to whitehaven for work and it took me across the south and up the west of the lakes... Those roads are just something else up there!! Harness Straps were done up nice and tight and the car just handled like a beast!

Had a bit of work to be done of late though on her. The steering angle sensor is still not working *bought a second hand one off ebay but that was broken but i cant find it in me to pay £200 odd from BMW for a replacement!!) so that means the traction controil does not work along with a few other things.. annoyance more than anything at the min. Will get round to it eventually.

I have had both headlights out also this weekend. Both the drivers side angel eyes stopped working and half of one of the passenger side ones stopped working too
Str  ipped them back down, took the eyes off and tested each one. Drivers side both worked fine which was good but means id just wasted half hour getting in to them, also meant that i had an issue somewhere on the cars loom or fuse.
The passenger side angel eye that only worked on half of the side needed taking out and resoldering as one of the internal connections had come loose. BALL ACHE BALL ACHE BALL ACHE!!!!! Horrible job to do but glad i fixed it and they are all sealed up and working again!
After a deep inspection on the lights loom at the rear of thr lights there were 2 x corroded wires which i replaced and bobs your unlce... 4 x angel eyes working again!!

1 spell of misfurtune though is that my dad ended up backing into the car with a forklift!! Damaging the rear bumper, passenger hind quarter and passenger rear light  did a good job of it!! :headbang:
Still to get round to fixing that as it was only a week or so ago.

Miss the countless hours trauling through the z4-forum though!! I need to spend more time catching up and finding more ideas to spend money on the Z!! :D

Cheers gents!

Plus i looked at how many miles i have now done in the Z and i am up to 131,000 miles!!! probably not a massive amount of people out there wanting a sports convertible with over 130k on the clock!!! Figured i may aswell keep her, give her a little more love, maybe a colour change and have many more miles of hooning in it!!

Bummed that i need to take the roof off again though to refurb the motor for a second time!! Lasted nearly 2 years though since the last time

Thought I'd spend a little bit of moolah again on the Z! It's been a while! Just got an M front bumper, got the car booked in for the rear panel to be repaired, gonna redo the exhaust again also. Need to drop MM a message for a favour!! :D

You're all copying me you pansies! :P

Word of advice, watch the fangs on the bumper. Absolutely battered one of mine a few weeks back. Now needs plastic welded :x

You still on FKs Ben? The bottom of mine at the min has had a scrape of 2! Think that was whilst on FKs :D These Coilovers are a little higher though than the FKs but slow as you like over speed bumps when bumper is changed!

Read about your Turbo install Jonny, that's going to be a great little uograde! You said about AE, which ones did you get? You have a link to it? Thinking of doing the same.

After the same OD as last time Mat (80mm) with a thicker wall to get a thicker chamfer.

I'm on eibach springs now mate, raised the height quite a bit but clearly not high enough for my driving style

just read this thread from start to finish!!! awesome work mate and gave me many ideas, thanks for taking the effort to photo and explain stuff as makes my life easier :D

hopefully u become active again and carry on the modding!
