Luggage Recommendations

Hi,

As a newish owner of my first Z4 E89, I'm looking forward to planning some trips away into Europe next year. I've been looking at luggage designed to fit into the Z4 bootspace both with the roof up and down, and there seems to be a huge range available at very different price points. I wondered if anyone has any experience, recommendations or advice before I take the plunge!! Ideally I'd like 2 or 4 pieces of luggage so the capcity can be split democratically to avoid squabbles!!! Thanks.

In my experience ROADSTER BAGS is the only way to go - The are pricey but if you come to sell they command a good price.
Keep your eye on the For Sale section or post a "Wanted" advert .

PS It would be protocol to introduce yourself in the Newbies Section

Agreed. I have the roadster bags. Unbelievable just how much they can swallow. Easily enough for a week away for two. Unless you married Imelda Marcos :)

For ref:-

Looks like €255

I use these, I prefer the flexible walls and the fact that when not in use they pack up inside themselves so easy to store, double up as shopping bags..your issue is there are 3 bags...confuse SWMBO by offering her the two small bags..lighter weight than the fixed wall versions

Also you can, just, access the main bag with the lid down..

Thank you for the recommendation and the advice to post in the Newbies. The bags you've mentioned are one of the options on my shortlist so I shall investigate them further.

Thank you for the recommendation, I'll take a look at the link. I should probably point out that I'm SWMBO and

Ah, so to continue the shoe theme...................... I put my foot in it!

My apologies for my assumption.

Thnx, very presumptive of moi... :headbang:

Replace SWMBO with an appropriate nom de plume

Now that I’ve put my foot in it the way we do it is...we each have one of the smaller bags for our personal matters and then use the big bag for the shoes, coats, shopping etc..

Works well...we’ve never, in the Z4, done a mega multi week road trip but the self limiting aspect of luggage space does mean we don’t come back with stuff that a few months later we wonder why on earth we ever bought it..

No problem. I'm sure I can come up with my own nom de plume :)

That's good to know about luggage capacity. I think I just need to revisit my expectations of a road trip to France to bring back a few cases of wine!!
