lubrication of roadster roof latch mechanism

Hi
When the roof on my car is finally closing tight against the top of the screen surround the motor is a bit noisy and was wondering if to lubricate the motor spindle shafts that connect to the latches and the latches themselves may ease things.
Any guidance on motor cowl removal and what to lube and with what,would be much appreciated.
