Oil changes tomorrow so in addition to the filter I think that I am looking at 5w/50 fully synthetic for the engine,

Castrol Syntrax 75w/90 for the diff oh and I dont know if its got an LSD so what do you all reckon

but what for the box?

Its a manual so are we also looking at a 75w/90 synthetic

I decided to change it and the oil didn't look like a lifetime one at all, my car done 80k

You changed the gearbox oil on the manual gearbox and the oil looked very dirty/used? I am building up a list of things that I will get done and that interests me. I believe like Scotty Kilmer says - lifetime is for the lifetime of the warranty. For those of us who own older cars that we want to keep running for years we need to keep an eye on these items.

I just changed the oils in my 2010 23i, went with recommended BMW original fluids. For manual gearbox BMW MTF-LT-3 1.8l, for diff BMW synthetic OSP 75W-90 1.2l
