lubricating the roof mechanisms

how do i do it ? went for a drive today and the roof seemed to be noisy , with the roof down the noise was gone !
i m thinking i need to lubricate the folding frame work

I just put some wd40 on the arms of the roof.

of course you can - just set it going and turn off the ignition. It will sink slowly but you can just raise it again a little more.

I lube mine with light oil as WD40 tends to dry out over time and I don't like spraying anything near the roof fabric

Can't remember the dark ages - I have a one touch module

I use the key in the drivers door method. Standing out side just turn the key to the open doors and hold. The roof will start to go down, just stop it half way by releasing the key. Also agree re wd40, don't use it. Use a light oil instead.

I use bicycle oil, something with teflon in it apparently. Much better idea than spraying anything near the roof fabric IMO.
