LSD - for E85

As far as I know, not easily as the rear sub-frames are different. Probably not worth the hassle for the price, so go for an LSD unit like Quaife or Wavetrac. I think my thread has already been linked, if you have any questions about the stuff I have, let me know.

Forum search isn't great. You can use Google instead and restrict it to the site. For example, try copying the following query into Google's search box:

site:z4-forum.com e46 diff

I priced up this option. Costs are similar for a complete M3 subframe and an aftermarket LSD in the Z4 casing... about a grand either way.

But once you factor in a rebuild of a tired M3 OEM diff, new discs/pads, and the extra work involved of moving all of the suspension components to the new subframe, the M3 option gets less attractive.

There is no cheap option, but at least with an aftermarket LSD you know that it's actually new. The question then is, do you also replace the bearings, bushes, final drive...
 
Just a question. Assuming you ignore all rebuild costs discs pads etc does the m3 diff/subframe just swap straight over. I assume you need all the whole assembly: diff/driveshafts, uprights, hubs, brakes etc?

Is there any advantage to the m3 kit over just getting an lsd installed into the e85 standard casing?
