LPG Conversion

Has anyone ever considered or had an lpg conversion done on any car they have owned. With the spiraling petrol prices it seems a goo idea so long as you keep you car for at least 2 years.

Never done or considered TBH...
You would have to sacrifice so much boot space and in the long run would it be worth it?

I had a Chevy Silverado back in the 80s that ran both petrol and lpg. It ran slow on both, but seemed to have about the same torque. I saw a kit the other day for an X5, but I wouldn't want to lose my trunk and mess with the weight distribution on my Z.

liquified propane gas. Not sure about other countries, we use it in rural areas instead of natural gas. Also used for barbeques

This thread is a repost of one from a few weeks back. Someone posted a picture of a converted Z4 running on LPG.

I use it on Jeeps and it's a wonderful fuel. Less than half the price of petrol (gas) and does not have combustion issues when driving at silly angles and it's very clean

Downside - a slight loss of power, less fuel stations and loss of pickup bed space

On a sports car - not a logical move at all

After reading everyone's feedback I guess it isn't worth it, I hadn't considered the weight distribution and didn't realise you got a loss in performance.
