Lowest miles per year ?

Mine - about 2000km in the last year. Hope to keep it nice and low too: like fine wine and chocolate, sometimes less is more.

In related vein, I was just having a quick browse at carsales.com.au .... they have 5 Aston Martin DB4 listed for sale ... a car from 1960 ... and what is really interesting is not only how expensive they are, but how low the mileage is on every one of them:

Car 1: Mileage 17,000km Price: A$420,000
Car 2: Mileage 18,000km Price: A$350,000
Car 3: Mileage 11,000km Price: A$260,000
Car 4: Mileage 34,000km Price: A$400,000
Car 5: Mileage 8,700km Price: A$719,000
 
I no longer use the zed as my daily. However, even for weekend use and forum runs I've covered around 3k in the last 3 months. The Moffat meet was around 700 miles, and Applecross was around the same. That's 1,400 miles over 2 weekends.

I love driving my zed :driving:
 
I do 2-3000 miles a year in each car generally.

My Zed has just ticked over 34k I've had it for 4 months in which I've done approx 1000 miles.
 
This is a subject of some interest, judging by the number of views, I am particularly interested in "whole life" average mileage, rather than "I did 2-1/2 miles last week" kind of thing.

Come on guys, especially with 2003-2006 cars, what's the lowest whole life MPY car out there???

I dont get it, people say how good these cars are to drive, yet some hardly take them out lol. I did 15,000 miles in mine since buying it 12 months ago, love driving it, love being out in it! Happy days. :)
 
Wow I thought i was doing low miles at about 7,000 per year. Just did 1,800 miles in the last week on a trip to scotland. Mine doesn't get used every day mostly weekends and road trips so at leads i enjoy most of the miles. Having said that my Puma has done 37.000 miles which equates to about 3.500 miles a year
 
Unless you have limited mileage on your insurance, or it's stored in a remote location. I just don't understand how owners aren't compelled to drive their Z

I've chalked up a fairly modest 22k in the past two years even though I work from home most days

In my case, it's a second car, with my first (company) car attracting big tax for BIK for car and fuel to the tune of £420 pcm. So good sense says, always use the company car, not my own.
Plus, I am often away travelling all week, so don't have the chance to drive the Z, and am so sick of driving by the weekend, just can't be arsed a lot of the time.

But the odd B road in Northumberland can be addictive...... :evil:
 
I do about 38,000 miles a year in my comany car, about 3,000 on my bike and 7- 8,000 in my Z which is my weekend car. I just like stopping in petrol stations :D :lol: :driving:

You can't win guys, damned if you do, and damned if you don't! Ha-ha!

Now, like true Anoraks, we'll all have to work out average MPD! :lol:
 
OK, if the average Z4 depreciates say £2000 per year, then we have two owners above with depreciation of £5 per mile :o Never mind, petrol, tax, insurance, servicing, etc, isn't a Taxi cheaper?

So, to recap: Too little mileage = massive cost per mile in depreciation. Too much mileage = massive depreciation? D-oh! I'm confused! (But then, I'm a Geordie, so not difficult, lol.)

So, is there a a sweet spot in terms of mileage, to get best value from a car, without losing out too much?
 
About 4k per year....though it can be as low as 2k. The majority of mine is done in 400mile runs.

A Zed that does only 400 miles per year is not an "average Z4".

I'm with Ranski on this, I look at the keys in the morning and the zed always wins over the sensible 4 seater. It's the first car that I love to drive, just for driving's sake.
