lowering springs

Firstly let me apologize I know this question has been asked loads of times. I have looked using the search function. But got put off by the amount of posts.

If you don't want to answer because i am being bone idle. Please fell free not too. And i am sorry for taking your time. Read no more.

Now if you don't mind answering. Is the cheaper end of the market that much worse? Pi ,fk automotive? I am happy with the way my Z4 handles. I just want her a bit lower. Should i save up and get a proper set of eibach or H&R. I have never lowered a car b4. I am making some and fitting on Saturday some 15mm hub centric spacers to the front and 20mm to the rear. After reading stuff on hear and not liking the way the wheels are so far inboard the car. Lowering would finish the job off nicely. Ready for a new set of wheels in the summer.

I have 3.0L Surly that effects what springs i need. The FK automotive website only had one type on offer for the hole Z4 model line up. Witch concerns me a bit :?

i have fk springs on mine. they're quite firm, but no more than standard springs are.

cost me £26 aswell so a big saving over eibach/h&r's.

i have the 3.0 also and they are the same as the 2.5's.

I don't think they are £26 at the mo. Thats one hell of an offer!! I think they are £60 ish

What is the drop on the springs you have fitted Marius? I intend fitting lowering springs and spacers on the Zed when I eventually get it.

I took the plunge a few months back. It's not so much that the ride is firmer but it absorbs the bumps so much better (skips over them if you like) and doesn't roll when cornering than compared to oem. I can't comment on other springs. But I do believe generally in life, you get what you pay for.

Sounds like one hell of an endorsment putter whore :D sound perfect in every way. The H&R springs are exsphensive tho :o

Think I need someone to take me out for a drive and see?
 
I have Eibachs on mine, but only cost me £50 from a forum member for the lot :D

Had I not managed to get them cheap on here then I would have saved up to be honest, as I am of the same opinion as Putter Whore.

I also have the same spacer set up as you are about to fit - you will find the car looks instantly better, especially if you have Sports suspension already, so you may find you can live with it. I was much happier with the look even without the 'new' springs. Not sure how you tell if you have Sport suspension on a pre-facelift though - mine is a facelift and called an 'Si Sport', which kind of gives it away...
