Lowering my z4mc, help!?

Good luck. I used to have h&r springs and they were fine. My only complaint was the front was too high compared to the back even with e46 pads in the back. My coilovers also ride much better than the springs and dampening is better suited to the spring rates

In my experience in Elise's this is the train of thought i'd have. My issue is that the Z4M is a great fun car but not focused enough for me to think that i'd notice (although not been in a Z4 with coils) the benefit in performance as well as looks to upgrade to a decent set up. Elise's you get an immediate improvement in feel and most owners (i'd guess) don't do it for looks but to get a better composed car on the road / track

I went the eibach route also, would recommend to anyone. Probably a better ride quality than stock...

My kit lowered the front 20mm and the rear 10mm.

I've been looking into lowering springs as a possible alternative to going directly to KW V3.

I've found that the spring rate of the Eibach Pro-kit is as follows:
Front: Progressive spring, initial rate is 23N/mm and the end rate is 34N/mm
Rear: Progressive spring, initial rate is 70N/mm with the end rate of 140N/mm

34N/mm is only 194lbs/in and the Eibachs claim to be 15% stiffer than OEM! No wonder the Z4MC squats and pitches so much. I won't be fitting Eibach springs.

A coilover kit for the Z4MC would normally use a spring rate of around 400lbs/in at the front and that would considerably improve the handling.

Doesnt get much better.... By far the best ride height for looks

I'm not bothered about the looks/posing, only in handling and performance. Anyway, with coilovers you can lower and adjust the rake angle as you like as well as make the ride great for bad B roads and then very stiff for on track.

Really? I think lowered that much spoils the line of the car and wheels. A few mm to get the wheel edge perfectly aligned with the arches is nice, this looks like its suspension is failing!

Just my (not) humble (enough) opinion...

Tapatalking...

I've always liked the look of a slammed car.

First car lowere 40mm. Second car was lowered 80mm front and 105mm rear. Slammed...

Totally agree with some cars you can go too far.... but others cry just cry out to be slammed
