Lowering coolant fan turn on temperature

Hi Guys,
I realise that this may not be an issue in the UK.
Just wanted to hear your thoughts. Over here in the tropics where temperature are always high & humid,
I've been told that many Bmw & European car owners have reprogram & lower the coolant fan turn on temperature
sighting that it helps in long term reliability. With so many sensor, plastic parts etc it kind of make sense to me &
frankly every time when I open the engine cover after a long drive, the heat from the engine bay does really
feels much hotter than my other Jap car
It was mentioned that Japanese car are all set to turn on fan at 95 deg for tropics where else European
cars are set to turn on at 110 to 125 deg.

Thks & cheers

It will be coded for hot climate version. It will be possible to code this yourself either via VO change or possibly via NCS/Carly.

I’m not sure on the N20 there’s any easy way of doing that..as previously discussed very limited s/w support for the N20…

Hi Scooba,
Many thanks, what's VO change ?

VO = Vehicle Order ..... basically a set of standard configurations within the software that operate functions, accessories, etc.
Changing them requires the proper software interface.
