Afternoon,
I've had my car in at a reputable local Indy for quite a few things and attempt at solving the wobbly steering with a new steering U joint.
They've informed me that the upper bolt was seized and they didn't want to risk breaking it as they'd have to remove the servo + master cylinder to drill it out. They said they couldn't really feel any play but without taking it off and putting it in a vice surely it can't be tested?
Also the fact the bolt is seized is a logical sign toward the joint being in poor condition?
I know quite a few of you have had a new U joint, is this something anyone has come across? I'm tempted to tell them to just have a go and do what they need to replace it.
What would you suggest?
