Low tire pressure/flat tire dashboard indicator

The low tire pressure symbol has been glowing amber (the same color as the other things on the dash). The manual states for a flat tire the symbol will light up red and a sound will be heard.
For a low tire pressure the symbol will light up yellow and a sound will signal.
My question is since I seem to have amber color is that a flat or low pressure or do they really show up an actual red or yellow when there is a problem?

Had mine come up 3x during ownership, once 2 weeks after I'd got the car, one slow & another fast puncture @ 80 last year - new rear tyre ;@(

All occurrences I had a red light but the bloody beep makes you brown your trousers.

Well, still not sure if I have a problem. The light definitely is not RED and there is no loud warning beep............thankfully, if the beep causes the problem that you mention. LOL

Coolvt - I had a slow puncture once with my run flat. Because I have bad memory I can't remember if the warning light was orange or red. How about checking your tire pressures? How are they? (I was pleased I had run flats as meant I could get home safely, albeit keeping to under 50mph, though I prob kept to way under this when I could to try and minimise damage to the car/wheel). Incidentally, I remember hearing a cyclic bang bang bang, the thing that had punctured my tire was hitting the tarmac so that was another indication that something wasn't right.
