Low power mode after 2.5 hours driving

I have a little problem with my 28i.
Normally the car is absolutely fine but whenever I go on a longer journey, after about 2.5 hours the engine warning light come on and we go into low power mode.
Oil temp reads normal on the dash.
The next day after it’s cool down the car sorts itself after a short while and everything goes back to normal.
Any ideas?
I have bimmer code and fired it up yesterday when the fault came up.

There are probably more, I’ll plug in again later and have a proper look.

Thanks

Code
Description
Likely Cause
387F
Power management: standby current violation

Weak battery, excessive battery drain, IBS sensor issue, charging system problem. Â

3447

Usually related to DME power management/communication (need engine variant for exact definition)

Often appears with battery voltage or electrical supply issues.

2D61

VANOS exhaust control fault – position not reached

Faulty VANOS solenoid, dirty oil, timing issue, worn VANOS actuator. BMW issued guidance on this fault family for E89 models. Â

2C58

Boost pressure control disabled as a consequential reaction

Often a secondary fault caused by another engine management issue (VANOS, air metering, sensor, or electrical fault).

Yes likely worn cam chain causing timing fault..best guess, if oil regularly changed then actual VANOS on N20 fault rare..

I'd have someone look at the camchain sub system
