Just seen this pop up on my stock alert with BCA.

Very odd for such a low mileage / owner car to be put through a trade auction.

However, it states that the last service was in June 2008! Considering it was registered in March 2008, that could suggest it has only had its running in service put in the service book.

Maybe it was DIY serviced after that, but it would be a bit odd as the new car warranty would require either BMW or a VAT registered garage (to the “same” standard as BMW). A bit of an odd history, probably why its ended up at BCA.

Here are some pics

Soon to arrive at a specialist with a suitably special price. If you were to enquire about the car and it’s SH I’d doubt you’d get a direct answer though. Probably best we talk in person would be the answer.

Thanks Andy! I should have searched the forum to find the answer.

Potentially, someone could get a bargain if it is remarketed at sensible price.

It’s been used sparingly over the last 14 years so will probably needs some recommissioning. If it still has the old oil this can be analysed which will pickup moisture content, contaminants and wear elements.

The worry would be how long it has sat between starts and if it was fogged during layup or before a restart.

This might get picked in the sample as you’d have oxidised iron in the oil.

But if it has 14 year old oil, it will also have 14 year old coolant and brake fluid.

Bit of a brave car, but fortune sometimes favours the brave. But it could also take a small fortune from you!

I’m the same, 14 yrs old and a multitude of higher risks associated with this I’d be shying away from it but maybe someone completely hands on will see it as a great opportunity at the right price

I nearly bought this 3 weeks ago from Vertu BMW Sunderland. It had a run in, first oil change and eventually a service 1. Nothing for the last 8 years. The dealership had it up for sale AUC and I jumped on it only to find it had no service history. They desperatley dug and phoned the previous owner who part ex'd it who confirmed nothing had been done. They wouldn't sell it to me as it also had a mileage discrepancy between the MOT and warranty visits. The interior was in disapointing condition as well considering such low mileage.

I thought I'd found a unicorn. Sadly not. I hear it sold today for £20.7k.

£20.7k. someone is going to make up the service history book and sell it. there's no other way of getting the money back.

OP. can you add the reg to your title in case the person buying it does a search.

Oop there it is! £25k..!
Tempted to phone to see how they explain a full service history.

Reinforces that I don’t want to buy one of these from a trader. Much rather the previous owner who is likely to be an enthusiast now.

Still looking for that Blue Z4MC anyone ;)

They also bought this one I was interested in off a private seller for around £18k

Ahh no. That one does look special. Was it a private sale on AT previously?

I think it was eventually on AT but initially on Pistonheads.

To be fair, they have valeted it up nice and too much better photos than the private seller

If you’re bored and have 5 minutes why not

Wait for them to give you their spiel then tell them you’d bought it a few weeks ago but bmw failed to produce the SH
