Personally I would go for the 3.0 - my 2004 3.0SE has only 29960 milles and is fine - I've had it over 3 years covering around 500 miles a year with summer use - it had just under 28k when I bought it from the original owner so he averaged around 3k a year - serviced regularly as it should ie 2 yearly oil/brake fluid changes and Inspection 1 - kept in garage all it's life and drives like new - have had the usual rear springs replaced and the infamous brake servo sensor replaced but everything else fine - no MOT advisories .

Yes check the history and make sure everything tallies up - the thing I would say however is how you intend to use it - low mileage cars are always priced at a premium so if you intend to use it as a DD and clock up a high mileage it will depreciate more quickly - having said that for £6k you're never going to lose a fortune compared with spending £30k on a new car and losing £10k in the first year ,

Go and haggle - you might get it a bit cheaper - and enjoy

Quite incredible that you own a car, any car, and do 500 miles a year in it?? 4 months of summer use divided by 500 is 125 per month! Where do you go in it at the rate of 30 miles a week?? Is it really worth it?

I really don't get people who buy these cars and drive only in the summer for hundreds of miles only per year. They're not exactly a rare or expensive car , never will be an investment in terms of money and above all... they're supposed to be enjoyed and DRIVEN!
