Low dust brake pads

I have had Axis Deluxe brake pads on my Zed for a few years now and they have been pretty good in terms of being low dust and reasonable performance... The garage is telling me the fronts are low now, so although they don't need replacing yet they will soon.

I went to order some more Axis pads but the range seems to be slightly different now (was looking on http://www.ca-automotive.co.uk/)

Any advice on the best ones to get to replace my Axis ones?

After the utter disappointment with Green Stuffs (which I binned off early due to poor performance) I was spent some time looking at the Delux Pads, which seem to be well received. I didn't have time to get the Axxis in though so went with OEM equivalent. I think PVR is running Axxis on his X5, not sure if he'd have any views. Think ga41 had Axxis on his M, will give him a nudge.

I am indeed running them on the X5 and have a brand new set waiting to go on the M whenever they wear out there. Great, bit noisy in the beginning as you probably know, but so much better than OEM with regards to dust and the same brake performance.

They have been on the X5 now for 35k and when I put the winter wheels on last weekend, they have a lot of life left in them still.

Cool, anyone have a link to where I can buy them in the UK? I searched for them and ended up with something that looked slightly different.

No, sorry. Got mine from the US.

CA sells them though at an inflated price if you are in a rush ...

Not in a rush, got a bit of life left on these ones anyway, just need to know where to get them from really

I got mine direct from Zeckhausen, did not even get charged customs.

Yes i did have a set of Axxis on mine which i was happy with but they were the ULT's not the Deluxe's. I found dust to be comparable to stock, maybe a bit less but to be perfectly frank i don't have a regular cleaning schedule for my car so take that with a grain of salt. Performance wise, they were a minor improvement which is the reason i wanted them anyway. A bit less bite on brush of the pedal when cold but slightly better than stock when warm. I'd get them again and so i bought a set of Stoptech Street Performance pads come replacing time. CA-Automotive claim that they're the same pad but rebranded and as far as i can tell it certainly feels like it.

I loaded CA-Automotive to see what's available now but they don't list any Axxis pads any more. You can still find them on US websites like http://www.buybrakes.com/axxis/apps-BMW.html but i don't know of any UK ones. Surely importing such a low cost item won't be that much right?

Well, CA does stock them ...

Deluxe are the ones you would want.

Interesting, on http://www.buybrakes.com/axxis/apps-BMW.html the part numbers are the same for Deluxe and ULT, just with D or U at the end..

Same part number in that CA spreadsheet as well, £59.65 rear and £74.56 front.

Way too expensive, I paid nowhere near that direct from the US though.

Yeah, but what does shipping cost from the US?

Yes, I can see that. Interesting that the "replacement" for those have the same 4 last digits of the part number and description is the same as well ....
