Low dust 35iS brake pads

I'm getting rather annoyed with the amount of brake dust my 35iS produces under gentle braking & how easy it is to overheat the pads when pressing on a bit. Besides EBC Red stuff do people have any recommendations?

I have textar e-pads on my E85. Very impressed with the small amount of brake dust they've produced, particularly as I regularly drive at high speeds on my commute, which usually includes hard braking daily.

Well using EBC yellow stuff - currently to early report.

But your requirements, I would propose EBC RED - as you already know.

I know people rave about these -but I dont think there is an UK supplier

I am also trying to find high performance pads. Heard mixed reviews about EBC - some of their stuff is made in China now. I had yellowstuff on my E92 and it was OK- huge amount of dust but braked a bit better than OEM, also squealed.

I found a supplier of the Powerstop in Poland - will check if they ship to me!

Found a bunch of pad options for us here, it's just a case of finding an EU supplier for each.

Heard good things about Cool Carbon + Hawk, few other new names I haven't seen in there before too.

First off…It’s important to properly bed in the brakes to get the maximum life and maximum friction out of the brake pads.

So I’m out bedding in my new brakes and I’m trying to figure out why the pedal isn’t fading after the 6th stop. I do the 7th and 8th stop and still no fade! 9th stop and 10th stop and now the pedal starts to feel a little softer but the brakes are still fine. I smelt them after the 12th stop and then stopped with the bedding process.

We’re talking about 12 stops from 70 mph to 20 mph with hardly any fade!
When bedding in my EBC yellowstuff pads, I would experience fade after the 8th stop so I was really blown away! We’re talking about OEM single piston floating calipers getting more consistent stops than a 6/4 piston setup with another high friction pad!

Looking for high performance pads with low dust is like searching for the holy grail. I to have been looking for an answer and have read mixed reports on EBC pads red and green and also on ceramic pads. My oem pads are Front Jurid and rear Textar. And yes they are dusty but any more or less than alternatives is hard to define. So I will keep watching with interest for some definitive comments from a UK user regarding pads that are proved and tested and are available from a UK supplier.

I'm not looking for a high friction, high temp pad that'll work with the discs cherry red with next to no dust. I'm looking for a low to medium friction pad that doesn't produce a load of dust and have the temperature resistance of butter. I know there are compounds out there that can do this but none of those pads come in 35iS fitment :(.

Yep, I think it will be around $55-$60 (estimated). I'll let you know

My Cool Carbon brake pads arrived at the Viabox warehouse

Going to cost a bit more to ship than I hoped because it weighed more than I guestimated (£50 to ship instead of £25) but I guess that's not bad from the USA to here. :driving:

How much does the package weigh? Due to where I work there are a lot of people going to/from the US so I could get it shipped to the business address of someone out there and have them bring it back for customs charges only :)

Thanks very much for the offer, it already shifted on - actually my original guestimate was $50 so $70 isn't crazy. Appreciate the thought though

Opps, that wasn't actually an offer as it's the wrong side of the Easter break & so too late to organise, had it been 3 weeks earlier then there would have been time to arrange things. I was thinking for me as once the summer conference season starts there will be a steady stream of people going out to the states and coming back.

Great, because I have other things I want to buy
