Fucking Scum :x the police will not do anything if they do some do good tosser will step in and say they should be sent on holiday and the parents will not give a toss to pissed or stoned in front of the TV. :x :x

Not good mate. Sorry about that. Its a 'wadda ya gonna do' thing

Living in a nice area? but your avatar says you live in Manchester :poke:

Sorry to see that,

3 twats tried nicking my bike last year, heard them at it at 3am , i chased them off, and they had the cheek to call me a wa**er, and my other 1/2 was behind me with a kitchen knife, i reckon she would of used it aswel if i would of got hold of one of them . :x

utter w*n*ers.

I had the same last year and it's such a gutting experience. I didn't know what to do and I just walked around lost for words for ages.
In the end, I decided I'd just have to pay for it.. and grab a copy of Family Guy series 3 the next day.

But seriously - I had the same thing with my Focus ST last year and it's sickening.
I chased the twohat down the road swinging my bike chain round and round like a loony - if I'd have caught him, I reckon I'd have done some serious damage.......
The worst bit is the realisation that theirs nothing you can do about it or them :(

feel for you mate.

Cheers guys :)

Keep second guessing myself and thinking 'why didn't I go out when I first heard a noise?'... Would have caught them in the figaro, at least saved my window and could have done some damage to at least one of them!

Though I'm kind of glad it went the way it did; at least this way they found that we don't keep anything of value in the cars over night and that a 6'6 bloke will be out of the house as soon as they touch the z4!

Could almost guarantee that if I'd have beaten the s**t out of one or both of them, they'd be back with a load of mates to cause as much damage as possible another night!

It could have been a whole lot worse; could have gone through the roof, like some others have said, or tried to crowbar the door open... This has to be best case scenario in this situation, really

There would be no need to worry about that as you would have been in the cells for daring to protect your property, Tut tut ,honestly Tweed did you forget for a second that you live in Britain. :x

You also have to live with what the potential beating does! Local guy known in the community because he was a petty chrim in his youth. A few years ago he robbed the wrong guy's house who tracked him down and gave him such a beating he is now partially paralysed!

Now I would, in the situation, probably defend my property if I caught someone attacking it, but you have to be aware of the consequences if you go too far (easy when your angry!). Someone who smashes a window in a car for instance doesn't really deserve to be beaten till they are paralysed!

Blimey, I must be getting old to say that!! :o

Not far off though...

You dont fk with someones car. or anything else of theirs for that matter.

This is a bit off topic (and more of an extreme case) but speaking about getting penalised for protecting yourself/your property it reminds me of the story of munir hussain:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/beds/bucks/herts/8413787.stm
I'm sorry but if someone entered my home, terrorised my family, tied them up... then they better hope they've fled the country before i caught up with them.

(the situation improved for him a bit recently...

Living in Aberdeen we get a fair bit of heroin-related crime. Dont even get me started on skagged up junkie f***s... :x

Stop the little fucker doing it again though, wouldn't it!

Personally, I'm all for the right to protect your own property. I would never beat anyone to that degree though (probably couldn't if I tried!), I would focus on just getting hold of them and keeping hold of them until the Police arrived.

My biggest concern if a loser Crim gets beaten to a pulp would be the cost of care, which comes out of my pocket in the form of tax ££ :x
I reckon the second you commit a crime against another person, or society in general, you lose your rights to society's perks (healthcare etc.). I say bring back work houses... chuck the little shits in a big hole and leave them there.

The thing in that story is that he went and got his brother and tracked them down with the sole intention of beating them rotten. Now yeah, I understand his mindset, and yes think he was justified... but we can't have people doing stuff like that or we'd have total anarchy.

If he had just escaped and beaten them off, I would say he would be fully justified in doing anything to them; if he'd killed them I would still be on his side! Like that farmer bloke that shot the kids that had broken into his house time after time and terrorised him and his wife. Fair play!

All too typical in this country. Glad it was only the window and not the roof. Better you don't catch them really, you'd always be the one with a nice car or house for them to damage at a later date.

Hey you should move somewhere nicer like Liverpool :) Hmm second thoughts the chavs were probably from liverpool :)

If it happened to me, I know I'd probably give them a good beating then take the consequences. But if I was nicked for it, I'd kick off to every newspaper I could find.I couldn't just leave them to run off If I felt I could catch them. Not a very sensible thing to do but these little f*ckers need to start learning that there are consequences to all their actions.makes my blood boil. :headbang:

Spot on !

Sorry to hear about this Tweed. My car spends every night in the garage, but when it is on the drive, I can't rest for fear of something like this happening.
I stopped off for a quick kebab sometime last year, locked the car as always and went in for the kebab. When I get outside, a couple of hoodies were looking through the windows of the car. I tried to ignore them, but as I walked around to get into the car, one asked for the keys...

Red rag.....

I told him to F--K off but he came at me. Not quick enough though as I dropped the nut on him. He went down like a ton of bricks and his mate ran off. I drove off - end of.

Could have ended differently though. I need to remember I'm not as young as I was, and these days the bastards carry knives or even guns....
Not worth it...

That said, he was never going to get the keys that night

Good luck with the scratch....

 Sounds like they learned their lesson the hard way, Still at least now they may decide car jacking may not be a good career move for them.

A little update:

Autoglass got the glass in at 10.30 the next day, rang me at about 5.30 to say it was ready. When I went to pick it up, the chap said "we tried to get all the broken glass out, but you never know, so just be careful". Fair enough I thought. So I unlock the car and open the door, and as the window drops that inch, there's an audible crunch. I got in and shut the door, no sound this time, so I thought just a wayward slither or something.

So opening and closing the window a couple of times, sometimes a noise, sometimes not... Anyway, it's been with an indy since (for an unrelated problem... another, rather more positive, thread). I got it back this morning and went for a little test drive, and I notice the door handle trim isn't on properly, quick tap and it clips back on. Though definitely doesn't fit as perfectly as when I gave it to Autoglass. This doesn't bother me too much, as I kind of want to change it anyway.

But then tonight, I pull up at a Maccy Dee's drive "thru", put the window down and there's an almighty crack noise, the window goes back up automatically (in tact, thankfully) and now won't move... the motor whirs but there's no movement at all, doesn't even drop when you open the door :x

So, not exactly pleased with Autoglass as you might imagine! Quite want to take it back to Darren Wood (my Indy) as I know he'll do a better job than the Autoglass cowboys... but he's booked up for a while, and besides, Autoglass f**ked it up so they should bleedin' well put it right!

*hmph*

I've read some good things about Darren Wood in Stockport/Bredbury on some other forums. I presume you would recommend them?

I've used Baymow in Stepping hill for the one job I've had done since getting my Z. They seemed reasonably priced, and fitted me in last minute for a 1/2 hr job.

I might give Darren Wood a ring next time and see who I prefer.

Just posted another thread about Darren... but in short, I can't recommend him enough!
Not sure about that number, I've only got his mobile (he only puts his, and Mike's, mobile number on the invoice too). I'll PM it to you.
