Know what you mean about the colour Marlon - if I was closer I would be tempted to see if I could do a deal to Part Ex mine just to get a red zed even though mine is a year newer , has M seats , nav , bluetooth etc and still under 30k miles .

:D

Anyway, my point is a car is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Everyone said that my car was over priced, but I bought it anyway and have no regrets.

Totally agree with you there, everyone seems hell-bent on paying the absolute cheapest price possible for everything these days to the point where it's become an obsession. When I went to see my car, it was the exact spec that I wanted, within my budget, and I just generally had a good feeling about it, so I bought it.

I believe its the only bright red 3.0si roadster on the forum.
Ahem!...Might be the only 3.0si, but there are a couple of members with Alpinas in the same colour...

Anybody thinking of going for this should just be aware that the garage Ball & Hargreaves (Ltd) Red Rose Garage Cabus is registered as dissolved, seeming now trading as Ball & Hargreaves from the same place, now without a website, with a new tel number and zero feedback on ebay. Absolutely not suggesting anything is wrong, just that you might want to think before shelling out a deposit up-front.

Good man - and you got yourself a great Zed

I'm biased - but thats one helluva car. Rare colour and low miles. Some might say I paid over the odds for mine since it doesn't have M Sports seats (its the SE not the Sport), but the colour is rare and the mileage is low (35k when I bought it in June) and its the 3.0si. I plan to put M Sports heated seats in one day - but it was the engine and mileage and history and colour that sold it to me. I believe its the only bright red 3.0si roadster on the forum. Anyway, my point is a car is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Everyone said that my car was over priced, but I bought it anyway and have no regrets.

My zed is also an Si Se Marlon but it came with M sport heated memory seats & M sport suspension, staggered 18" wheels, mfsw etc.
The original owner had ticked all the options that the sport model has, I don't know why he didn't just order the sport model to begin with?
Regards

Strange - maybe he loved the car and initially compromised on the extras, or perhaps only after he'd owned it for a while did he realise those other options were available? So basically Rob, you have an 'Si Sport' in all but name. Mine may end up like yours :) - I already have the staggered 18" wheels (swapped onto the car from my traded in 2.0 sport as part of the deal). One day I will swap in a pair of M sports heated seats and switch pack, but I won't be changing to M Sports suspension as I prefer the more forgiving SE suspension. I have had the standard steering wheel refurbished by RoyalWheels, which was a big improvement and not as expensive as a mfsw, although one day I may go for one of those too :driving:

Even stranger is the fact that it had all the sport options from brand new & not a later change of heart?
Regards

Ah yes, but you'll never have that coveted 'Si' badge, will you.... :poke:
(and I'll never have a 3.0 engine either... :( )

Si is the engine spec, which both myself and Smartbear have. Our cars are 3.0Si SE. The 'Si' denotes the 265 hp N52 engine. The 3.0Si 'Sport' version has the identical engine but comes with the extras we were discussing. Its confusing I know
Cheers Marlon - and all I had to do was look at your signature to see 'Si' - really dropped the ball on this one didn't I... :(

Hey - no worries enzed4, its a minefield on here with all the different engine sizes, and model specs, and 'face lift' variations. It was only recently that I realised 'Hellrot' was German for 'Bright Red': prior to that revelation I thought the Alpina Zeds were a different colour red to mine cos those guys referred to their cars as 'Hellrot'
