Love the Ruby Black and specification, not too keen on the facia, wouldn't put me off though, I'd get it changed to either Piano Black or Carbon Leather 
The wood isn't that bad with the cream leather, it's a common look in jags and RRs, but would agree piano black would be cool. When I bought mine. I was told that a lot of the M spec zeds were dealer specd as they had to take on allocation, so you get the odd colour spec combo now and then, this could be one of them :?

Just ignore the armchair drivers and keep doing what you're doing.If you buy any car as an investment then you can't drive it - though it shames me to say it, the coupe will be a classic, but it won't be worth millions for, oh, a few hundred years. So you either have a 10k miles car that is 10 years old, pristine, but never been used for what it is meant and actually not worth that much relatively speaking (and overshadowed for many buyers by newer models at a better price point), or you have a 150k miles car that has been cherished (by you), driven the way it was built to be, and is still a classic. Worth a lot less to the market but priceless to you. I get the idea of buying a couple of really expensive cars and driving them rarely, if that's your thing (though it's still a shame) - but it's a Z4 FFS, not a Lambo or a Pagani.

I wouldn't have ordered the car with the wood. But then, It is a nice car that one can't buy new any more. So the wood really wouldn't put me off buying it. But. I'm old (55 next week), I own a flat cap (or two), And I'm American. We Americans even make homes out of wood. And we seem to have a lot of it here. So why not. HMMM!!!! Maybe I should look at the Morgans for sale.

Problem with driving it hard is that they do tend to get rough so they do need looking after especially the Z, because its so low they are so susceptible to stone chips etc makes me cringe when mines a mess. Been driving out in the sticks a lot recently seeing a client and my CSLs yesterday made me
there was about 1/2 a cm of silt in every spoke! Hate to think of the scratches when I come to clean it. But with working I dont have enough daylight hours to clean it! Its a pet peeve of mine a nice car not being looked after properly, caus these cars do need attention or you get rubbish examples like we've seen a lot of recently.
I dont think the E9x V8 will be a classic as far to many were made. Do love it tho... the one we had felt like it had never ending power. Im really toying over a E92 M3, M6 or C4S next.... The beemers are much better value tho, that M6 that was posted recently really makes you think wow.... thats a hell of a car for less than 25k! But then again might just keep the Z but I get bored quick....

Low miles does not mean not driven ... take mine for example, I either work abroad or at my office next to my house so hardly drive for work.
This means that all of my 22k miles are done in very few road trips, i.e. done the Scottish run 4 times so that is 6k alone, done Germany twice - another 4k and the rest are mostly trips to visit family in NL or the forum runs.
Never use it for a short distance so no issues with water standing in exhausts etc.
Just saying that not all low mileage cars are due to short trips.

I'm only second owner on mine... Car went to a private owner so is factory specced..
On the dealer spec ing issue it's one of the reason there are so many black RRS kicking about .. Dealers know they are popular so they tend to pre- order in black and dark grey only.
