Loud thump/click when putting roof down

Im experiencing a loud thud when putting the roof down in my E85 03 3.0.

It happens when the roof is about 20cm away from being completely down, the roof pauses for a second then a thud and the roof quickly jumps down.

It has never happened before, just began since having the car in at Halfords autocentre - they opened the roof but not completely and when I picked it up the red light was flashing to indicate the roof not fully down, not had problems with the roof at all previously.

I have read that straightening and folding down the canvas neatly when the roof is half open helps, which it did slightly... but when I tried again the thud is still there.

Any help would be great. Thanks!
 
Sounds like its catching on the locking catch. Mi e does this. Look for the tell tale mark in line with the catch and above the rear window. Ultimate fix is to remove the locking bracket i think :thumbsup:
 
Narrowed it down to the rear window not pushing down the folding edges of the parcel shelf when the folding down
