Hi all, took zed to indy today, they had a good look round underneath, the springs are okay,so WTF the loud bang on the roof was!

Write it off as an experience. They'd have been looking for problems and didn't find anything wrong so I'd stop worrying.

Did you check the part running through the roof above the glass? I assume the roof still is in the original shape?

If everything is working then I would forget about it Andy or you will end up having sleepless nights

Do you mean the hard middle part? yes it operates fine (touches wood)

Had a big fat sleepy pidgeon dive bomb me the other sday. Hit the top of the windscreen where the roof meets :o

That made a bit of a noise!

I was on the M25 the other day in slow moving traffic and heard a loud bang on what sounded like my roof.... turned around and the car in the lane next to me (but slightly behind me) went into the car infront of it.

You can become paranoid with noises.

Dropped Mrs CJ off at the Fort in a heavy rainstorm. Drove off and out of the rain. Heard water sloshing in the car and thought 'sh*t, what's that, surely not leaked in that much?'

Turns out she put her half a bottle of water in the door pocket that sloshed perfectly on any movement ...

As you say, noises come with the territory as far as convertibles go. When i got my MR2 5 years ago (my first ever convertible), i was amazed at all the little mysterious sounds you hear as you drive along. The slightest thing has you thinking; 'That doesn't sound right". You soon get to know what noises your particular car makes, they are all different in their ways, it's their own character.

Sometimes though, amongst the noises, you just know when a particular sound shouldn't be there!

This morning heard a loud bang on the roof.

Some minutes later the neighbours cat had come down and started a major fight with our cat.

We did not go to sleep after this fracas.
