From Evo Magazine:

"More details about the production Lotus Evora have emerged. The car was at the Geneva motor show where its £47,500 kick-off was confirmed, but the price list has since been thrashed out.

£47.5K will buy you a base 2+0 car, which forgoes rear seats for some extra luggage space. If you want to turn your Evora into a children-friendly 2+2, the price goes up to £49,875. That'll rise further should you delve into the options list, too, with a sports-ratio six-speed manual (£1495), forged alloy wheels (£1495), Bi-Xenon lights (£550) and Sport Pack (£950) likely to be some of the more popular extras.

The first 200 UK cars will barely leave an options box unticked, with a high specification and corresponding £58,460 price. Everything from Alpine premium ICE to a very un-Lotus reversing camera feature, as well as the 2+2 seats.

The Lotus Evora - complete with 276bhp 3.5-litre V6 - goes on sale in the UK on May 2 2009."

The Lotus will come out just before new BMW Z4. Z4 sDrive35i has 306 hp and is £37,060.

Will be interesting to see how well the Evora sells - I've always thought its too expensive for the performance and, as ever with Lotus, they're releasing it at the worst possible time for the economy. Might make for a nice second hand buy in a year or so. :D

My problem with it is the styling. Interior looks good but exterior has a seriously kit-car fell, especially around the door handle area / rear end. If it was £30k you wouldn't care because it's more car than rivals produce. for the money...at that price, the competition is fierce
