Lots of questions...

Hi Guys,

Happy New Year to all Zedders, I hope it's a good one for you all :)

I've got a few queries I'm wondering if anyone can set me on the right path with:

> My split alloys are a mess so i'm looking to refurb. A local company in Newbury has quoted £100 per alloy to bring back to new, is this about right or are they having a laugh. Is there anywhere I can use that may be slightly cheaper?

> My BMW badge has recently flaked...couldn't believe it. It now looks naff so is Sopers the best place for a reasonably priced replacement. I've looked on ebay but there look to be a lot of fakes on there.

> Hard roof. I'm interested in buying one if the price is right but can't seem to find any anywhere...any ideas?

> Battery Replacement. I've not used my Zed for a while (long story) and the battery is flat, it's been trickle charged in the past but was realistically on it's way out then. I'm a 53 plate and was going to replace with a Bosche S5 or S6 from http://www.carbatteriesonline.co.uk/shop/BMW/Z4/3.0/2004/__/137/car-batteries/ but theyre out of stock, are there any alternatives out there you guys know of.

Many thanks guys n gals,

The BBS wheels are notoriously expensive to refurb back to the standard finish. I believe a lot of owners get them done with a painted outer rim to save money and make them a lot more hard wearing. I would check what you're getting for that £100 . OEM finish (in which case it's cheap) or powder coated all over.

Sopers will give you a 10% discount and free delivery. Almost definitely the cheapest source.

Pretty rare so hold their value well (make sure you get all the associated parts with it as they are even harder to find on their own). The classifieds here and eBay will be your best bet. Depending on colour, condition, accessories and time of year you'll be looking at £600-800 roughly!

Replaced mine last year and went with the recommended one from my local motor factors. No problems so far and guaranteed for 5 years anyway!

Many thanks guys n gals,
