Lost video clips

Took a few video clips today as we were at a firing range, but the clips playback ok through the camera and when it is connected to the tv but when connected to the PC the clips aren't shown on the memory card,is there a way to retrieve the clips?

EDIT The camera is a Panasonic Lumix TZ30 +Sandisk 16GB Extreme SD card :thumbsup:
 
Are you connecting the camera to the computer with a cable? If so try putting the memory card into the computer directly (assuming you have a card reader)

I can't remember what movie format Panasonic uses but it will probably be a .mov or .avi file
 
Set Windows to show hidden files and folders and try again. Odd though as mine shows ok. Also a Panasonic but a different model

How do you do that sorry to be such a numpty :(
 
On windows 7, drop down the organise button (top left) and click on folder and search options. You'll see the option to show hidden files and folders there. Change it back afterwards as it will apply to everything in windows 7, not just the one folder

Just tried that and still nothing, hidden files and folders was already checked,i'm beginning to think it's the memory card that's at fault :x

Remove the memory card and see if you can still play the clips in the Camera.
If they play then you've recorded them to the cameras built in 12Mb memory.
 
Thanks for all the advice I've just checked the settings on the camera and I had it set to AVCHD for playing through HDTV which it did but I should've had set to the MP4 format which will then play through the PC school boy error :headbang:
