Lost parcel help :(

So I bought a bootlid for my e46 on eBay - was couriered via parcel force & 'delivered' on Monday, signed for by an 'M Taylor at number 4.

Now - I live on a new build housing estate and no one lives at number 4. So I ring parcelforce - their vans have GPS and the man on the phone confirmed that the driver entered my estate, not nesescarily the house number but the van certainly made an appearance near to my house.

I've visited all the Neigbour's in the vacinity and no one has it - I'm not too familiar with names either & I'm really at a loss now where it is? It's not like a small thing someone's kept in their porch & forgot about it either it's a bloody massive boot lid!

Just rang parcelforce again who are going to speak to the driver & get him to revisit my housing estate later this week to see if he can remember what house it was left at, but I'm not holding much hope,

I asked the guy on the phone what happens if it doesn't turn up, he said I will have to get in contact with the sender & be re-imbursed, however from ebay's perspective wouldn't they just turn round and say, 'well it says delivered here sir' & just fob me off?

I'm at a loss now as it wasn't cheap & don't know what to do,

Any advice appreciated

Jamie

If the tracking shows it being delivered at a different address then you will get your money back if it doesn't turn up

Delivery drivers often lie about what they actually do. I have cases that my security cameras show that the driver puts a non delivery note straight in the mailbox without even ringing the bell, normally at the end of a day as they want to go home so rather than spending time handing the package in they just drive by for the GPS to record the route.

The way I see it is this:

The delivery company has a contract with the seller to deliver the item to a name at an address. If they choose to leave an item at another address then that is their risk if that recipient does a runner, doesn't hand it over etc. but that's why they should get proof and leave a clear location.
I assume eBay won't care because it says delivered and it's difficult to force them to do anything. If it was over £100 and you paid on credit card then I'd consider chargeback if the seller isn't willing to chase Parcelforce up.

Im waiting right now for a parcel coming from Yodel, they said they tried to deliver it last night but the building was closed and left a card(a lie as it is opened till 10pm and he said he tried at 6.50pm and the building doesnt have a letter box)
I got to work today and checked the cctv cameras and no van entered the premises and nobody came to the front doors with a parcel.
Yodel said after checking the drivers route that he had been at the wrong address and it would be redelivered today.
Still not here and dont think it will turn up at this time.

Well mine hasnt gone well
Yodel say they tried to deliver last night at 7.18pm, I was at the entrance to the premises all night from 6.30pm onwards with the doors wide open!
And today they say they tried to deliver at 4pm and nobody was there.
They are either bloody liars or extremely stupid, its a high school they are delivering to and isnt closed at 4pm.

So Mr Taylor has a big f**k off boot lid sitting in his garage that he signed for and is sitting there waiting for someone to knock on his door. He never asked who it was for, or he knows but hasn't made contact with you? Doesn't add up :?

Directory enquiries - you have the name and the road, which should be enough ...
