Lost / no keys - what are my options now?!?!

So was in the middle of changing my handbrake shoes, car is up in stands, all wheels off and parts in the boot… checked cctv and can see me locking the car so I know the keys have gone into the house… and now they have vanished, I’ve searched every last inch of the place.

I only got 1 key with the car a few weeks back and now I have nothing 👎🏼

So what are my options for getting a new programmed key?

BMW main dealer, is this something they car get produced from the V5?

Trouser pockets, washing machine …

I have fished my keys out of my pockets from the washing machine (before they were washed …)

As already Said, re check all your pockets, especially the back ones, did you have a coat on or something with pockets in, where did you take your shoes off, you may have put the key down there.

Do you wear overalls. I go through everything I did and where I went, usually works. Did you have any receipts in your hand at the same time, keys might be with them.

Did you bin anything when you came in…. Rubber gloves time, sort through the rubbish.

Washing bin, washing machine, behind the toilet basin, fridge…. Basically anywhere you might have gone straight after coming back in the house.

Has to be there, very unlikely someone is going to steal a key to car they can’t drive away.

Unless…… did you lock the car while the boot was open, then shut the key in the boot

I did that with my E46 Compact. That's when I found out the spare key didn't disarm the alarm.

Anyway I hope you find it OP.

Keys locked in car somewhere?
If you can't find them, there are options for someone to come to the car and remotely code and cut a key for you.

Do you have a missus that likes to put your things ‘in a safe place’ too? Somewhere so safe, no ordinary person would ever find it, including me!

Best of luck, hope they turn up

Are your house keys on the same key ring? If not they may be in the same place. We have a glass jar and if my keys go “missing “ that’s usually where they are!

I lost my new Merc key in the house 2 years ago, never found it. Got a new one made at the cost of £500, eurgh!
