loss of car computer data

Its been really bugging me recently, today was the fourth time in last 2 months that I have got into the car and all date/times have been wiped and some of the on board computer info. Has this happened to anyone else and could this be something sinister? The car is otherwise running fine. I cant link anything with the times it has happened before appart from always happening in the morning on first start up of the day??

+1 as an old battery can produce some weird synptoms

ill check it out. should i replace asap or just keep it going until it dies?

if you have never had the battery warning light or trouble starting i cant see it being the battery. have you made sure you havent got a loose connection on the battery terminals and all the fuses in the passenger footwell are in tight???
