Loss of a pet

Sorry to hear. Our cat Sim made 18 years, it left a big hole for a couple of years in my home life.

I have her photo with her gold collar draped over the corner in a special place.

Condolences.Well done for you loving actions.

You have my sympathies.

I had to lose a previous cat under similar circumstances - Grizabella was her name. [I also had her brother (Mr) Mistoffelees, but Jemina went elsewhere - can you see a trend here ?]

When it came to the deed I was just a crying mess in the corner of the vets, but she came home, and is buried in the pet graveyard at the bottom of my garden

I feel your pain.

RIP Balloo. What a beautiful looking boy!
I hope my little fella lives to that age (he's 5 now), you must have some great memories over 18 years.

Sad news, so sorry for your loss. Dogs, cats & horses here, all very loving creatures that I can't imagine being without. :'(

So sorry to hear about your loss, I know exactly how you feel as I had to have my darling cat Georgia put to sleep in July. We have 5 others here but I still miss her - she was a big cat with a big character. I first met her when she was 3 weeks old & we had 15 years together. There will be lots of memories but at the moment there is still a very big gap in our house :(

Sorry for your loss.
Its the one thing I absolutely hate about owning pets, at some point they are going to go and at the moment we will have to go through it another 5 times.
At the beginning of the year we lost one of our cats, Bo, a maine coon that was almost a year old.
We were both absolutely gutted. Her ashes are inside an ornament on a shelf in our living room.
We now have another 2 main coons (brother and sister) who have filled the gap that Bo left along with 2 half brother ragdolls and a moggy making 5 in total.

Hello

Sad news .. feel for you as I have been in this situation on 2 occasions now, we lost our Siamese choc point as I had to make the decision to play god but we had no choice as she was suffering. But we gave her 14 years of loving care. We now have 2 Lilac point Siamese at 4 years old that are doing really well .

all the best

I lost 4 cats in one year (over three relationships over the years) I can't remember ever having cried so much when I had to walk away from Meisha and he was going to be put to sleep.....makes me teary now

Thank you to everybody for the kind comments, now that the initial shock is waning slightly I can start to console myself with the thought that he was a much loved & cared for cat & this showed by the love & affection he gave in return.

Still missing him like crazy though.

So, you need another cat - trust me it helps :)

Sorry for your loss. But we have a dog and we promised to give him the best possible life while he's here. And when the time comes we will know he had a great life! Which is all you can do! There a awfull lot of animals/pets out there that have terrible life's! :(
