losing the backend?

Gho, what did you drive before the Z4? That may explain a lot. I think you aren't used to the dynamics. You should try to sign up for an autocross or an high performance driving event to learn your car.

I've only had the back end step out on me once, I'd just spent an hour taking a crappy diversion since the M1 was closed and it was pretty wet. I finaly got into some traffic free road, at a round about and I kinda mashed the throttle for some fun whilst I had a rear wheel on the white line. The DSC caught it very quickly though, no real drama at all.

I've had the back end waggle even on dry raods with good traction (well, as good as it can be with the Conti's) conditions when I've been taking a corner and gone across a painted line on the road - those can be slick!

One particular corner is bad for this and I have to make sure I don't put the power on while the back wheels are on the paint, at least when the wife is in the car. :D

I always have the dsc on. Its this time of year, I have had a few slides myself but the dsc sorts it out before I even realise whats happening :D

In my //M coupe ive always got the DSC on. Only had it a month!

I have to say though even when its dry its easy to waggle the back end out - i think road temperature makes a lot of difference too.

Wheels spinning a little in 3rd/4th when im on it! Only tried sport mode a couple of times, mental.

Ah well its all good fun.

God knows how long the tyres will last though!

When I was young(er) and first had a TVR I mentioned at the first service that the back end seemed to step out quite a bit. Service man looked a bit puzzled and said if it didn't I wouldn't be driving it properly :) Quite like all the safety gizmos now I have to admit.

Always have the DSC on mine has been stepping out a bit and a few wiggles in this wet weather but as said above its not always the car or tyres its the driving had a lovely moment when i gave it to much gas away from the tolls at Dartford bridge could feel the car stepping the the left for a little while made me smile :D

Would never turn mine off due to the disability with my left arm i know i could never catch it plus would be gutted if i damaged my car.

Would love to try one without it on though but not mine :D
