Lose connector near the cabin filter (

Hi Guys,

I just replaced my cabin filter and i noticed while removing the front panel a lose connector near the GM5 module.

I couldn't trace where it belongs to, do you guys know what the connector does and or where is suppose to be placed in?

I cannot be specific but BMW wiring looms incorporated connectors that were there specifically for upgrades or accessories that were not necessarily used in the model of your car.
A typical example is the connection used for pre September 2004 cruise control, but I'm sure there are plenty other examples.
A connection that is not used does not necessarily mean that something has been disconnected and therefore no need to worry.

Just a guess but could be for footwell light.
