Loosing my RAGtop to a cat!

Buy a supersoaker water pistol thingy and blast the crap out of the cat every time it sits on your car. It will soon stop. :D

Man that is the funniest video ever! Wonder if he builds on commission as we have a bit of cat fouling problems at the front of our house. Funnily enough that stopped in our back garden as soon as we got our lovely Dobermann

Cat repellent spray does work, until the first rain shower...

Anyone have a proven solution to get rid of cats then? Preferably one which wont harm the critter?

I have new tenants next door who have atleast 2 cats... my roof was white this morning with hair.... opened my door to get in and and got some on my suit :x

Problem is my car is left out when i am not around as i work 4 days a week in Dublin... so my friends advice of using a pellet gun/ super soakers wont work!

Had a similar experience with cats sleeping on the roof of my previous Z3. Unfortunately the cat(s) did not only stay on the roof. They discovered that the roofs fabric was very nice for sharpening claws. It became of course holes and I had to replace the complete roof at the stealer.

But afterwards I bought an alarm which was triggered by a movement sensor (example; http://www.mammothsecurity.co.uk/al_guard.asp). Installed this over the car roof, and activiated it each night with the remote control. Heard the alarm at some occations the first nights after installing it (sound louder than 105 dB). The cat(s) learned quickly that the roof was a noisy place, and I got rid of the problem :D

Get one of these :

Surround your car with this stuff, it is very effective

I have the perfect solution that is guarantee'd to work ........

I have to say of course that I would never advise anybody to do this nor have I at anytime used this highly effective method ............

cut 3 or 4 or 5 strips of 2 inch wide sticky tape and lay them sticky side up on the roof of the car. Use your imagination for the rest .... I imagine that after an encounter like that, said pussy would find somewhere else to perch. :D

with an E89, you could just activate the roof when he's on it. It will squash him flat and stow him away nicely in the boot.

- followed by a quick drive to France and let him out.

Hahahahahahhahahahahhahaha!

why do people go on about cats on cars,if you dont like it get a garage.
as for people harming any animal i would give them a good Harding  and see how they feel rant over

I'm not for mistreating animals either, but "get a garage" isn't a reasonable response, as you well know. Owners are responsible for their animals, like parents are responsible for their children. If the cat's owner won't keep it inside, (we have leash laws in the US) I'd call animal control if you have such in the UK. They can humanely remove your problem and put the animal up for adoption.

I have a natural deterrent. He's 70 pounds and doesn't like cats, so they steer clear of my fenced yard.

While a agree harming animals over a piece of metal is over the top if someone elses pet lounges/ damages your car and your responce is move to a house with a garage... Thats like saying all to all those syrians that dont like the government regieme (killing protestors even children) should move to a different country

i think you should all just accept defeat, i would suggest leaving a nice cat basket on your roofs, this way cats hairs will not cause you problems and the cats will be extra comfy, everyone wins :)

Are the cats in your area Ben & Jerry's fans, or have I misinterpreted the tub in your basket ?

I'd try and claim it as a cat lure, but I'd be lying! We bought that bed for the cats but being cats they ignored it. The dog adopted it and youngest daughter gave her the empty tub to lick out. Being a lazy sod I plonked it on the roof as is!

Btw, if you really want a laugh, I went through 5 strips off a clothes delint roller after leaving a full dogs worth of white jack Russell hair and fluff on the roof. Kind of illustrates the OP's point! :headbang:
