I wanted Ruby black too... but in the end went with the more common sapphire black.

this is my interior

hold out for what you want

With such a lovely interior its a shame to have a fixed roof which always hides it :poke:

I'd go for the looks:
- you might as well sit somewhere with nice surroundings (makes a huge difference to me)
- sat nav: i'm in the hater camp (TomTom works better and is cheaper, and IMO the sat nav enclosure spoils the dash lines)
- electric folding mirrors: could take or leave them
- basic hifi is good enough for me (I appreciate it ain't great but it's sufficient).

I'd say my favourite change I've made to my car was from a standard black/silver interior to this two-tone, just makes the car a nicer place to be (definately marmite though):

I'm not a fan of the two-tone interiors, so my vote would be for the toys (which I'd have thought would be generally more desirable for re-sale value too).

Love Ruby Black though. Very, very nearly bought a Ruby Black M instead of my white one, but the direction I had in mind wouldn't have suited the RB car. Bloody lovely colour though.

Thanks for all the comments, I think im going to go for the functionality car:

2007 Sport Coupe
Carbon Black
Dream Red Leather
Piano Black
108s
33k
Bluetooth
Multi-Function Steering Wheel
Hi-Fi loudspeaker system
Navigation system - Professional
PDC
Xenons
Automatic gearbox
Heated Seats
Sun Protection Glass
Electric Folding Mirrors

That is a cracking spec. I'm sure you won't be disappointed :)

Edit - does that mean it's just the two tone interior, and Ruby Black colour that's missing?

And the storage pack but yes, but cant sniff at Carbon black and Piano black I guess

sorry but as soon as I saw that thought of you :) remember Cooper Norwich are always over priced (know it from experience) so if you decide, haggle hard and be happy to walk away :)

Can the storage pack be retro-fitted? Might be worth considering? Carbon Black looks great, and piano black is lovely

You're nearly there :)

surely coupe owners must be voting for 'functionality'? why else would they buy a two seater with a huge boot?

lol
Actually, this is the first time I've seen one of these dual-tone dashes ... I rather like the look.

I wouldn't be too fussed about the satnav toy --- it will be the first thing to 'date' on the car (like kitchens and bathrooms in houses). I think they were already a bit dated when the coupe was released ... and moreso today. Sure - I'd far prefer to have satnav built-in (other things being equal).... but if it is built-in, there should be a way to update to a more modern hi-rez touch screen ... and that unfortunately seems rather unlikely to happen.

Also, I wouldn't procrastinate tooo long .... you may find, very soon, that instead of having a choice of 2, that neither is available. The likelihood of finding exactly what you are looking for in a coupe is tiny. In my own case, I would have preferred a lighter silver than the silver grey I bought last year ... Had I waited, I would have got nothing ... in almost a year, there hasn't been another low-km silver (any shade) on the market in Australia at all. Zero.

Thanks all, put a deposit down on functionality today, will show you her when she arrives beginning of Feb :D

Out of the two, I'd say you made the wise choice. It's a major PITA to hook up a portable GPS every time it's needed, and take it down/hide it every time I park it. That's the one option my car doesn't have that I really wish it did. I got a great deal on my Z4, and the only one I found for sale with built-in GPS that otherwise met meeting my spec requirements was in California, which would have required a plane trip for me. As it is, I drove 9 hours to buy my Zed. I think the interior looks better on the car you picked than your other option. You won't regret the upgraded sound system either.

what was the point of the vote then :?

I personally prefer carbon leather interior to piano black dash, and full black leather to Bi-colour (red/black).

You made the right decision on functionality.
