Looks a good value M - 11.5 K Interlagos

As long as it has been kept in perfect condition. Can not cope with any wear and tear on beige ...

Thanks mate. I've just got a message back from the guy, its taxed till September IF he gets the asking price otherwise it'll come without (although potential for negotiation I guess!). Killer for me though is it only comes with basic 6 speaker set-up so he says, not DSP......which might be a bit anal but I really want that speaker system! Or is that being too picky??

Honestly, you wont really care about 'professional speaker system' when the hood is down and you're at 7k revs.

Craig 3.2s is Either Champagne or Light Sepang and i really like it - always looks good at meets

Craig has champagne - as it has stitching in the bolsters, which means New England leather (i.e. Individual spec).

I am such an anorak :headbang:

I know what you mean - I wouldn't have bought mine without DSP - or at least the upgraded middle hifi system.

Totally get you inkey$ - but in my mind, I use the stereo every time I take the car out, and so it was a "must have" for me. Sure when I'm at 7.5k revs the stereo is turned down to enjoy the devilish metallic rasp of the S54 - it's just so addictive  8)

But for pottering around and long journeys, I like to have the DSP stereo cranked up :)

True.....but as Adam said, if I'm pottering around town/motorway driving then I like my music to sound good! I've got the 10 speaker mid level system in mine at the mo, and although it is good, it does lack a bit of 'fullness'.

I was just thinking put £500 or so aside as the price is good and let a audio specialist go to town on it with some custom stuff which would probably be better than DSP anyway but.... I've had bad experiences with these places doing shitty jobs and not putting back trim correctly/new rattles appearing etc.....plus I think it will have a better re-sale value with the standard DSP equipment from the factory, rather than custom stuff, especially on an ///M. :\
Shame, as its the only thing that's bugging me about it :(

The question is - is this worth 2k to you - if all stacks up - I think this car is about 2k off the market.

Very good point....I'd have to sell mine first though which could be a problem...although there seems to be a distinct lack of facelift 3.0si on the market at the moment which might help my cause. Plus I've not even test driven any ///M's yet, might be a case of bad timing for me unfortunately :(

+1 on what Zermatt says. If tunage ability is crucial to you then absolutely wait for the right car. Or buy this one and spec up a system with the money you've saved - WIN/WIN!

Recommend you try an ///M first though. You might hate it.

You wont, but you might

I've sent the owner the link to this thread - he didn't fit the exhaust - he's had the car the last 3 years and keeps it garaged under a cover .

Hi, I'm the owner of the Z and have been passed the link by Rob.

Just catching up on the feed and happy to answer any questions. Basically I've two small kids and we generally go out as a family, so I use the Z to escape but it rarely happens. I now use it to get to the gym twice a week which is about a 1/4 a mile away, other than that it spends winter in the garage and is garaged when not in use, whilst in the garage it sits under a car cover connected to a solar battery charger.

It's my pride and joy and I love it to bit's, it had an Oil service in August even though it didn't require one, just because I'm weird like that and passionate about cars, it still has 15K miles till the next service.

It's apparently cheap, but if I'm honest I'd like more and I believe the car is worth more, but I tried it at £13.5K and £12.5K and had little interest except from dreamers and test pilots. I'm selling to get a larger family car, we currently have an old 3 series, so once the Z is sold we'll sell the 3 and get a 5, total genuine sale.

Thanks

Welcome! I can totally get where you are coming from, I sold my Z4 for the same reason (lack of seats) and bought an M3 and have used it more in 3 weeks than I did the Z4 in 3 months...

Hi Steven, thanks for popping by, how long have you owned it out of interest?

Coming on 3 years now, think it had about 43K on the clock when I got it, it's now up to 44,250 I think, so I average about 400 miles a year in it.

One of these people who has a car to be used and another to be cherished, it's a dry weather car only.
