I looked at the list of approved phones and I am underwhelmed the choices that BMW has for me to choose from.
My service provider is ATT and I have no issues with them.

I Have a 2004 Z4.

Only phone I don't want is the iphone and I am not leaning to be a crackberry addict.

Any known sourses that with link up well without issues that are not on the list or have good relialbility?
 
why no iPhone? Just curious...

Many Bluetooth phones work reasonably well, some with limited functionality. Mine is an HTC TyTN II and works fine except for text messages that I can't read from the car.

Too much toy factor to toss $$$ at this platform.

I have too many other toys that rule my life atm to dive into another one,

Also, I have a personal knock against APPLe from a while back.
 
I have the iphone, but I've successfully paired a Moto Razr v3i to both the Z4 and my '05 525i. Both worked without a problem.

I don't think ATT sells the v3i anymore, but perhaps the newest RAZR will work the same way?
