Hi Guys,

Only just joined the forum, Currently Driving a Astra VXR! Looking at purchasing a Z4 3.0si or a 330ci in the very near future!

Just wondering, how much would you look at paying for a 2007/2008 Roadster?! With Leather, Bluetooth and Possibly Sat Nav (is the Sat Nav just a plan Sat Nav, I own a portable Sat Nav already, is the factory one worth the money? is the anything that will enable the Sat Nav screen to be used to play DVD's? Also, I know the display also shows the information for the Bluetooth, eg. caller, etc. Without Sat Nav where does the caller display come in?)...

Are there any options I should look for when deciding on the car?! Is there anything I should look out for in terms of recalls, comman faults?! Finally, BMW quote 33mpg...is this a myth or do people actually see this figure? Just seems high for a 3litre engine, I mean my VXR is drinking at 25mpg when I drive nicely!!!

Thanks in advance,
Tom

Welcome to the forum

Caller display on non sat nav bluetooth comes up in the radio display. Bit of a pain scrolling through contacts to make a call on the one line display...

Heated seats IMO are a must :D

I average 33mpg on a longer run  Newer engine is supposed to be better?

Welcome

Heated M.Seats are a must

Prices depend on location and spec they vary quite a lot

My 2004 3.0 se Auto returns according to the onboard PC 33 mpg at a steady 85 mph and 26 mpg when enjoying myself :D

Nice one...Thats beater than my VXR then, when I'm "enjoying " the open road I get about 17mpg!!! LOL!

Your telling me LOL!

In addition to my above questions, is there any cheap / easy ways to retro fit Bluetooth / Sat Nav, Cruise, etc...

I ordered my VXR new with Cruise, etc...But later found that I can Retro Fit Cruise on myself for £80!!

cruise is an easy retro fit but nav and bluetooth arent. depending on your skill set though, do a search and see for yourself as theres a good few threads on here about it.

good luck.. you know you wanna :)

It is possible to retrofit SatNav and Bluetooth, both myself and PVR have done the SatNav at around £500.

CJ10Jeeper has done bluetooth, and I have the componets, but not got round to doing this one.

Blueeoth is a bugger without SatNav as you have to go through from A-Z or Z-A, but with Nav you can navigate easily.

Cruise control is only easy retrfit on pre facelift cars, and IIRC only earlier pre facelift cars.

Cruise easy on pre oct 04 cars as they are pre-wired. The retrofit kit comes with the wiring if you are brave though.

Bluetooth without nav, is usable but not great - I've had to reorganise my contacts.

Hi t20lau - I just bought my 03 3.0i and am averaging just about 28.5mpg but its mostly urban driving and not going hard because mostly driving to work which means nout but traffic.

On the way up from Sheffield I was keen to see what I could average on a motorway journey, I averaged just over 75 mph and 38mpg (mostly on cruise) - gotta love that

I've done more mods than I care to remember on my Zed, but my basic comment on BM's would be to find the exact spec. you want. Due to the nature of the Zed many come very well loaded at little more than base price.

All retrofits add up in time and parts, except cruise that's £80 and 10 minutes work with a dremmel
