Looking to buy an M need help/suggestions

Hi everyone!

Awesome community you guys got going on. I'm 24 yo male living in sunny southern california. I am looking to buy an M but had a couple of questions.

Is there any big differences between the 06, 07, and 08 models I should know about? (interior, engine, etc.)

I love the way the Coupe looks but I live in so much sun that it makes no sense to not get the roadster... I'm on the fence about this one so any thoughts to help me decide?

Where is the best place to start looking to buy? Right now I am doing the Craig's List, AutoTrader, Ebay combo. any other suggestions?

brave man opening up the coupe versus roadster debate again Personally if I were living with that much sunshine, it'd be roadster every time

no real difference as far as model year etc that Im aware of. Unless you count the AUX-IN as standard on the 2007+ models - but that is an easy retrofit anyway

Welcome along! There's very little difference in the model years and very little difference in the roadster/coupe( other than the roof!). Coupe supposedly a little more 'hardcore' but you'd have to want to track them to really notice any difference.

Personal choice, if it's always sunny where you are then the coupe might be a better bet, I say this because convertibles don't sell as well in places where it gets very hot but do sell very well in miserable, cold damp places like Great Britain

Not much difference between models. 07 and 08 as mentioned above have the AUX-IN-PUT and BMW assist is free for the first 4 years starting with the 07 model. I would look for an 07 or better 08 model that is CPO and you will get the extended warranty out to 100,000 miles.

I had a M3 now drive sDrive Z4 3.5i (2 cars in one) need I say more. Take both for a drive then you decide one needs to see it, feel it and taste it you know that

I love my roadster, especially with temperatures between 65 and 80.

I am so excited right now.

It looks like I'm probably going to go with a roadster. The hunting seems like it is going to be the best part. I'm thinking probably 07 or 08 black since it most likely looks the best with the roof.

What stereo upgrades were there? I'm a big audiophile so a speaker system that "blows women's clothes off" is a necessity to me.
