Hi All,

First post on here so a big HELLO first of all.

Looking to get wither a roadster or a coupe. Went to see a Interlagos blue coupe at Sunningdale BMW yesterday.......hmmmmm Need to stretch my budget to a coupe me things instantly fell in love!

Anyway - If you nice chaps can point me to good examples of either that would be great.

Ideally looking for a black Z4......

cheers

Welcome aboard

Thanks chaps!

Inkey$ is a lovely motor.....I think the colour wouldnt pass the wife test unfortunately! :headbang: I am even having trouble with interlag :( os blue....

Welcome aboard. :D

What are you planning on using the car for?

Daily driver, Weekend Toy, Track Car. etc.

The Coupe is the sensible buy, more practical, little depredation expected, on the good ones. Bigger boot.

The Roadster is the fun one. If you love the out doors. :D

Both fun drivers cars, neither is perfect, roadster is softer, read a little more settled on a normal British road at hoon speeds.

Have fun searching.

Oh and take a second look at Sepang Bronze. Once you see it in the flesh, on a Zed, it looks amazing, to most viewers. 8)

Buy Inkey$ - you won't find much better - And save yourself the Coupe Tax

Or if Coupe tax can't be avoided beat the rush which I think is going to develop for Costas Titanium Coupe

Yeah Costa's ///MC is a beauty. If the Sepang isn't your colour, then Titanium Silver makes a great choice in a neutral/non-offensive tone.

Obviously silver isn't black, but then again we can't ALL own the best colour 8)

Thanks guys, already good pointers from my first ever post.

I've seen a black roadster low miles up near fife, just can't get the time to get up there at moment. The indie dealer sounds reasonable enough and has also sent over some close ups of car and service book....

Did I understand correctly that the roadster is better suited to uk roads?

Thanks all for pointing out some examples for sale all lovely motors.

Mines going to be a weekend toy only, and for those car fest pursuits!

I test drove the Fife ///MR. Lovely car, reasonable condition (wheels need a refurb to be perfect), but basic spec. No nav, cruise and basic stereo. Apart from that car was ok, and the dealer is a good lad. Comes with warranty too.

If you want more info give me a shout

A roadster. ...more suited to UK roads??.....
I've heard it all now..... :poke:

:D - I almost posted that a leak proof Defender ( pretty imposdible to find) is probably the most appropriate

Think I touched a nerve there with the whole Z4MR vs Z4MC.....
Anyway - got my eyes on this. way over my budget...

..but see if the chap is up for some negotiating.

It's a very long description of a car with very few options. Can't understand why they whould even mention electric windows, power steering, 2 seats, M wheels etc.
Might be a clean example though.

I couldn't pick out any options from the spec. Very basic car.

The one in the link is really pricey for the mileage and options. Saying that - that price could reflect the condition, which I have to say looks pretty good (pictures can tell porkie pies though, so tread carefully)

I hear what your saying about the pictures.....car should be seen in the flesh! also I am always cautious about cars in indoor showrooms with lovely lights which make them looks nicers!

Also spotted this today

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201402222003507/sort/default/usedcars/postcode/kt198tp/radius/1500/keywords/3.2/model/z4/make/bmw/page/1/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew?logcode=p

Any ideas if drivers pack is a good or bad thing? Just dubious it has been ragged!

That's still a fairly basic spec. Mentions an Aux port. So could mount your own Nav if required. The standard one is far from brilliant anyway. 85k miles is a bit leggy, but should still have plenty left. For another £1500 I would hope you could half that. But buy on condition not mileage.

On the standard suspension thing, the M Roadsters tends to have the best reputation for ride comfort, whilst still making a fun tack car on the odd occasion. The Z4 was originally designed as a Roadster, so has a suitably stiff chassis. BMW took the opportunity with the Coupes roof to almost double that rigidity & I think they tried to make the car a little more track orientated. Both M's have the same really good seats.
