Looking to buy a Z4

Hello

Iv been looking to buy a Z4 on and off for a few years but now iv decided its time to do it! my van is paid off and work is going well so i thought id treat myself to a weekend car!

Id just like to know what to look out for when I'm looking for one?

It has to be the 3.0l engine and id ideally like it to be in grey!

One of my worries is the roof, i know they can be expensive to repair so what do i need to check?

My budget is around £4000 but its only a weekend toy so i don't want to spend too much.

Thanks in advance
Arthur

Hi and welcome to the forum
This might help with picking the right car - http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=21281

Hi and welcome.

I wouldn't be too bothered about the roof motor. Plenty of guys on here can move them to the boot for c£100. More important I think to try to get one with a decent service history.

Good luck!

Thanks the that, i will have a read! I'm sure that will help!

Should i stay away from high millage? as in over 100k

I don't think that's a problem if the cars been looked after well, I'd be more wary of low mileage neglected cars :?

Welcome aboard.
An over 100K car would be fine if looked after. Condition, service history and spec would be my motivating factors rather than a pre defined mileage limit.

Welcome OP, and top lurking! 3 posts in three years, then 2 in one day!

Agree that condition, history and spec are more important than mileage - especially as it sounds like you don't expect to do huge mileage in your Z4 anyway.

BMW 6-cylinder engines seem to go way past 100k with regular maintenance!

I hope you find one you like soon - and don't forget when you do we are rather keen on photos.
